Newbie needing career advice
My husband and I are going to try for a baby in about a year. We have both decided that once we start trying I will stop working because I have to commute quite a while to get to my job. My husband knows my love for learning and knows I wouldn’t mind going back to school. We’ve discussed it and once I quite my job I will take a few classes. The problem is I’m not sure what to take!
I’ve obtained all my general education credits. I went to college and obtained a degree as a Health Unit Coordinator as well as becoming a Certified Nurses Assistant. Right now I am working at a Health and Rehabilitation Center. I love helping others so I don’t mind the work…I just don’t know if healthcare is where I should be.
It would be great if I could get some advice and support about what might be good for me to go into. I will tell a bit about myself and then I’d really appreciate as much feedback/comments as possible.
I am very creative. I love designing new looks whether it be in my home or with outfits of mine or my friends. I am highly organized and like structure. I am very neat and actually enjoy cleaning! (Weird, I know!) I also have an immense love for learning. I read and write whenever I get the chance and I love researching things on the internet. I also enjoy coaching…I have volunteered as a cheerleading coach and figure skating coach and had a blast doing both. I am dyslexic but I am very high functioning. I was tested for dyslexia and I was told that I have more of a problem with numbers then letters and my IQ is actually quite high. Another thing worth mentioning is I will only be looking for part time work once I’ve had a baby. Something I can do at home or something with lots of flexibility would be wonderful!
I think that is about it…sorry this is rather long. Again, I would really appreciate any advice you can give! Thanks! J
